Brhat Naksatra
This book has been named Brihat Nakshatra because we intend to cover everything taught in the tradition about nakshatra (including our research after the passing of jyotisha guru Pt. Kasinath Rath) in it. In this initial volume we have avoided descriptive details about nakshatra as these are already available in other books and will take them up in subsequent volumes. Instead our approach is exactly as is taught in the tradition starting with the sapta-loka mandala and the tri-loka mandala which brings out the first clear difference between the 28 and 27 nakshatra systems under the first part. Thereafter we examine some of the nakshatra groups like Tri-nadi chakra and the nakshatra tattva where you would be amazed to see that the clue to understanding Leonardo’s Vitruvian man lies in the nakshatra tattva.
Pushkara nakshatra and Gandanta nakshatra have been explained with the tattva so that the reasons for the dangers posed by them are clearly appreciated. Ample examples using the concepts help to cement them before we go to the well known navtara chakra and show new ways to use it including in relationships and family dynamics. The remedial measures taught are with very specific slokas and those who use vimsottari dasa frequently would do well to get acquainted with this.

Jyotisa Fundamentals
A fine book for basics and middle level astrologers. It gives out various principles and methods that have been a part of the oral tradition of Orissa. Visti Larsen has been a good student of mine and is a Jyotish Guru who understands the working of Jyotish an is able to explain its principles in simple and straight steps. This publication is the result of a promise to my teacher, namely to teach on to others, what I have learned. The book is a contribution to the aspiring astrologers, with knowledge gained both from my personal association with my Guru, and the application of the same knowledge in my own experiences with my clientele. The book is meant to lift astrologers of a beginners or intermediate level up to an advanced level. To work on the core roots of the subject, the first chapter deals with the ‘Panca-anga’, or the five limbs of the Vedic calendar. This particular area of Jyotish is often overlooked due to lack of knowledge in application on part of the astrologer, and also the idea that it is merely a calendar system, and hence overlooked completely by astrologers following the Western Astrology System. To give a more practical use of the pancänga, I have introduced some very useful methods of application to identify flaws in the quality of time, and how it relates to the chart. - Visti Larsen
